Below are the basic registration instructions, and there is an FAQ at the bottom of this page.

If you have any questions not answered there, you can reach me at Flags@ColoradoPack396.com or ‪(720) 773-0396‬.

Start by clicking the link below:

You’ll want to choose “Fort Logan National – Denver – DLN” from the drop-down menu, and then just click “Submit” without entering your name and email.

This will set you up as a new user.

On the next page, you’ll enter your info.

The first key field here is “Enter Group” where you want to put “Pack XXX” or “Troop XXX” and let everyone else in your unit know to put the same thing in that field so you’re all placed in the same section.

You can register your whole pack or troop at once if you like, by entering the total number of attendees from your unit, or you can ask each family to register themselves. Either way works, so use whichever method is easier for you.

In the “VOLUNTEER PLACEMENT” section (outlined in gold) you can choose a specific cemetery section if you have one you’d prefer, or if you just want to be placed where they need the most help, you can choose “ANY Section – 991” from the drop down.

On this page, in the “VOLUNTEER REMOVAL” section (outlined in blue) you can also volunteer to head back on 6/1 to help gather the flags back up and put them into the bins.

You don’t need to do both, but you can register for both on this page.

Once you have completed all the sections you need to complete, click on the green “Submit” button.

That’s it!

Once you get registered, you’ll start receiving some information from the organizers about where to park, when to show up, what to bring, etc. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I park?

Parking is always a challenge at this event.

Park along the side of the road as close to your section as you can.

Plan to arrive at least half an hour early if you want to find parking near your section. Arriving an hour early will make it much easier to find a spot.

Some areas will be blocked off with cones. There are lots of one-way streets in the cemetery, so please pay attention to signage.

If you can’t find a parking spot at all, you can park at the YMCA just north of the cemetery (5181 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236).

What should I bring with me?

This event happens rain or shine, so please be prepared for the weather. The ground can get very wet and muddy, so wear shoes that will be comfortable under those conditions.

Scouts and Scouters may wear their Class A or Field Uniform if they wish.

Flags are to be placed 12″ away from the headstones, so a ruler can be helpful (if you’re not exact it isn’t an issue, but some people like to measure).

The ground can be hard, and the flags will break if you put too much weight on them. Having a screwdriver to poke a hole first before placing the flag can be helpful.

How long does it take?

Most volunteers are done after 1-2 hours, depending on how big their section is, how many volunteers show up, etc.

Each volunteer will be given two bundles of 20 flags. Any volunteers with other commitments may leave after placing their 40 flags.

There will be volunteers who stay until every grave in the cemetery (Over 120,000 graves across 214 acres) has a flag placed on it.

You are welcome to stay and help in your section until all flags are placed, and even to look for other sections that need additional help. When you are done, please let your section leader know you are leaving.
